Muddy woods

Muddy woods

It’s 56Β°, so everything has melted and the trails are an absolute muddy mess! The dogs don’t care, however, they think this is great fun πŸ˜‰
Stunning Snowy Woods!

Stunning Snowy Woods!

It was absolutely amazing in Saxon Woods this morning- sunny and brisk (22F) and the kind of beauty that makes you feel good to be alive!

Although someone had already been around part of the trail before me on cross-country skis, snowshoes were an absolute necessity! The three miles that usually takes us about 50 minutes took nearly twice that, and by the end I had shed my jacket and was just in a t-shirt- it was quite a workout, but the dogs did not seem to mind πŸ˜‰

I took my new favorite grab-and-go combo of the A7Cii with the TTArtisan 40/2, and I think some of these just about do justice to the lovely hike we did πŸ™‚

Dogs gotta get some exercise!

Dogs gotta get some exercise!

I’m doing the right thing and staying off the roads, even though I’d love to go to Saxon Woods in this!

Luckily Rye Rec is right across the street, and on a day like today I can let the girls off leash to have a good romp in the snow! They’ve even partially cleared some of the paths for those of us on two legs πŸ™‚

Afternoon walk

Afternoon walk

Came out a little later today after it had warmed up a little (24F) so the girls could have a run without their coats on πŸ˜‰ I think with the wind chill tomorrow they will definitely need to be wrapped up then!
