I have been blogging for ten years now using the excellent Blogger platform, but I recently decided I needed a little more “elbow-room” so I have made the decision to switch over to this WordPress platform instead (though I will keep my Saxon Woods dog-walking blog on Blogger). It is a lot more flexible, it is open source (and we all know I do love open source!), but mostly it will allow me to have more control over the way my photographs are posted (ie. without Blogger’s or Facebook’s compression).
If all went well the old blog transferred over successfully and can be accessed by clicking Blog above. It may look a bit different, but all the old content should be there along with the new…
And I will be arranging my pictures in albums and galleries on the Galleries link above (the Example and Public Galleries are public, the Personal Galleries are private and are password protected for friends and family)…
At the end of 2019 I have transferred this website to a new, greener webhost, greengeeks.com, in an effort to slightly reduce my carbon footprint (that’s one of the joys of WordPress- if you don’t like your webhost you can just pack everything up and take it somewhere else). So far I’m very happy, but watch this space… 🙂
