A year with Amy Pond

I have just realized that today is Amy’s Gotcha Day- we adopted her from Pet Rescue in Harrison a year ago today (she was called Allie then).
She has definitely made a huge impact to our lives as she is a classic mix of her two main ingredients, Labrador and Pit Bull: she is sometimes intelligent, always goofy, headstrong, a total cuddlebug, good friend of Walter the cat, bratty and annoying younger sister to Faith, a bed-hog, and just a little bit crazy. She has twice managed to require a trip to the emergency vet due to her penchant for throwing herself through the underbrush with no regard for stumps and branches, and she is always 100% “on” when out for a walk, but is happy to then come home and be a total couch potato for the evening. We don’t know too much about her life down south before she came to us, but it would appear she was in the shelter system for a while (her sister was brought north just before her and adopted and lives nearby) as she took a while to start to get properly socialized- and we’re still working on it- she couldn’t be in the same room if the TV was on for the first few months, and she’s only recently stopped being inexplicably terrified of June.
We wouldn’t be without her! Here are a few random pictures of her first year with us:

Here’s to many more years with our lovely girl!

She and Molly really look so much alike and have such similar poses! Good thing for me Molly can’t read or she would find out what a much more exciting life her sister Ms. Pond has!
