New eBay bargain :)

I’ve just received my latest eBay bargain (I keep an eye on the available vintage lenses to round out my collection)- this is the Super-Macro-Takumar 50mm f/4 which I picked up in absolutely mint condition for $48. Macro lenses are made to take close up pictures (though this will take pictures from any distance), and this is known as one of the best ever made. This version was manufactured from 1966-1971, and based on the serial number mine is probably from the end of the run, around 1970- but you wouldn’t know it’s 53 years old from looking at it!

I’ve just taken a few quick snaps around the house to make sure all is well, and it’s working great and renders beautifully 🙂 I can’t wait to take this out to the woods, perhaps with my helicoid adapter so I can get even closer with it…
