Holly in black & white

Holly in black & white

I ordered a modification kit for my vintage Fdn 35-105 lens so that it will mount directly on my camera without an adapter (basically you remove the back of the lens, take out the old aperture control mechanism, put in a new aperture control mechanism, and put a new back end on the lens which is an EF mount), a fairly simple procedure, but the mod kit has to be very carefully designed and then custom made- thankfully a chap in Canada has the time to make and sell them. As well as not having to mess with adapters, this removes the extra lens that the adapter I previously had to use had and the crop factor it introduced, making this lens now a true 35-105mm, a very useful range.

It all went together very nicely (after I watched the installation video 3 or 4 times), now I just need some nice weather to go and put it through its paces, In the mean time I took a couple of pictures of Holly in the grey, flat light out this afternoon, one of which I quite like. And as it’s a vintage lens I thought converting it to black and white was appropriate 🙂
