Crazy day!
To quote Dante Hicks, “I’m not even supposed to be here today”.
After getting Jackie’s car inspected bright and early this morning and dropping it off at work for her I had a whole list of other things to do today (clean the house, take my car for an oil change, walk the dog, fold the laundry), – but no.
What with the sewer guys needing to shut down the water and all the bathrooms while they finally fixed the pipe, and the gardeners breaking a huge window, and all that both of those events entailed, I have not really sat down, let alone gotten anything else done!
The glass company finally showed up to board up the window (no-one keeps glass that size in stock- it has to be special ordered), so I’m just taking Holly for a quick walk around the block while they work as there won’t be time to get to the woods when they’ve finished before the thunderstorms heading our way get started- though with a heat index of 104F I think she’ll be happy enough with that.
The good news is: it looks like they’ll get the window boarded up before the rain; my new smart-watch tracks my steps each day, and before leaving for my walk around the block with the dog I was already up to nearly 14,000; the sewer is fixed enough to use and the water’s back on so I can take a shower soon; and we’ve decided to be really lazy and get dinner from McDonalds 😉
