How the other half lives…

…it’s wonderful what a polite smile and a gentle joke will do.

I was given a boarding pass which said my seat would be assigned at the gate (when I went online to check in yesterday it said this flight was oversold and they were looking for people to take a later one in exchange for a voucher).

So when the gate opened I went up to check and said if they needed someone to take “one of those big, lonely seats up front ” I would be prepared to volunteer. The gate attendant said she was just sorting it out and she would call me back in a few minutes. 10 minutes later she did, and with a wink and a “if you don’t ask you don’t get” she handed me a boarding card for my window seat in “business first” 🙂

Priority boarding, a seat that lays fully flat (this is my legroom with my footrest), a full-size TV with lots of movies and a menu to choose from for lunch… I’m a happy camper!
