New headphones

Trying out a new set of Bluetooth headphones for listening to my music while walking the dog- Kinivo BTH240‘s.

I’ve never been totally comfortable with earbuds of any kind, and none of the wired headsets I’ve tried have had buttons that worked properly (to change the volume, switch tracks etc.) with my phone, so I thought I’d give these a try.

The Bluetooth connects right away and seems pretty rock solid, all the buttons do what they’re supposed to and it even works fine to answer phone calls (it must have a mic somewhere). I was a little worried that the behind-the-head design wouldn’t work too well with my glasses, but they’re actually quite comfortable, and they don’t seem to use any more battery than the wired headsets. The sound is a bit flat out of the box, but after a bit of a tweak with the phone’s equalizer they sound pretty good, and on-ear headphones have a much more “expansive” feeling to their sound than any earbuds I’ve tried.

It’s early days yet but so far for $30 I’m quite impressed 🙂
