Canine therapy

Canine therapy

Back in the woods with Holly 🙂 We didn't get to come yesterday because the power went off and we didn't know whether it was going to come on in time for church this morning and therefore there was all the angst that went along with that! So I went out and just threw a ball for her in the parking lot for 20 minutes, but though that gave her a bit of a workout it didn't give her the mental stimulation she gets from checking all the smells along our route in the woods- and it certainly didn't give me the decompression I needed. I've been tense and a bit snappy all morning, and as soon as I got to the woods today I felt the tension slip away. I hadn't realised how much the last week has got to me and how much I need the time in the woods every day to process it! We all handle these things in different ways, Jackie plays her video games, other people meditate, but I have my canine therapist to walk with 🙂 By the way, I would also just like to take a moment to applaud the amazing woman who was foolish enough to marry me- she has been a rock for me this last week, listening to me vent the frustrations and uncertainties of dealing with a large public building during the storm and cheerful and charmingly helping out with setting up the soup and serving it every evening- she's amazing and I'm incredibly lucky to be married to her! Just thought I'd mention that 🙂
