Credo- Day 3
It is now about half past 4 and we have free time ’til 6 when we have
dinner with our small groups. We have been put into groups of 4 with
whom we will work on the various areas we learn about in the larger
lectures. I guess the idea is that we can get to know 3 other people
really well and then we’ll have a nice tight, safe forum to discuss
things with as we get into the nitty-gritty of putting together our
“Credo Plan” (which I’m still not 100% sure what is).We were split into these groups yesterday before the “Lifeline”
exercise- what that really was was a jumping off point as we were
asked to go find a comfy spot to get together and get to know each
other in our group as we told each other our life stories. My group is
really good- we are all younger (well, I’m the oldest but we are still
the “young group”), and we got on really well. Paul is the youngest at
29 and is from Texas where he works for a big Episcopal camp, Diane
comes next at 38 and works for a camp in NW Connecticut, and Jennifer
is 39 and works for the Diocese of Florida. We quickly realised that
we are all outdoorsy people, and as the weather is pretty nice we
dashed out and got dibs on the gazebo in the middle of the bridge over
the lake. We spent a happy couple of hours out there telling our tales
and being very relieved that all 4 of us had been nervous that we were
going to come to this thing and be stuck in the middle of a bunch of
“religious” people with whom we didn’t really fit in. We are all in
differnet places, but none of us are really super religious- so we
were pretty pleased to have been grouped together. We had a pretty fun health workshop this afternoon, all stuff I knew I
should be doing, but interesting to have it spelled out and hear some
other people’s perspectives nonetheless. We have the chance to sign up
for “one-on-one” consultations on any of the 4 areas Credo focuses on,
and I have signed up for health, finance and vocation. I pretty much
know what I should be doing healthwise, but I figured why not check it
out, we had a good workshop this afternoon that has me almost
understanding our pension scheme so I want to know more about that,
and the vocational one seems a good chance to discuss areas that the
profile we got last night highlighted areas where my perception is a
little off from other peoples in a couple of places.OK, I will now upload a couple of pretty pictures of the chapel as
promised this morning, and try Skyping Jake (they’re going to Bellizzi
for dinner with Jodi tonight, so may or may not get through). I will
take some pics of the bridge and gazebo and post them later too.

Glad you’re having a decent time and that not everyone is stretching and praying!!
