Haiti

Haiti

Well, here it is 7:30pm and I'm sitting right were I've been most of
the day- between the server and the single gateway computer that we've
managed to do a clean re-install on.We hope to be able to use the image from this (and a similar one from
one of the Compaq machines) to push out from the server to all the
machines in the lab. I'm just waiting at the moment for Scott from
Cloud9 in White Plains (who has been fantastic!) to do a little
configuring on the server so we can go to the next stage- the wonders
of modern science that he can work on the server from there! We had hoped that as the road was now open we would be able to drive
back to Port au Prince tomorrow so we could see some of the country,
but the way things are looking we'll probably need all of tomorrow
tofinish up- so it looks like we'll be flying back to PaP on Sunday as
originally planned.David is outside at the party he is sponsoring for the students here
tonight- it was supposed to be our celebration of our task being
finished- oh well 😉 I hope that once Scott gets his stuff finished we
can at least get all the Gateways finished up tonight- that will just
leave the dozen or so Compaqs and the fine tuning to do tomorrow- but
it looks like another late night. The music outside is good and loud,
and with all the Coke I've drunk today I don't think there's any
chance of me nodding off!Ah, Scott looks ready for me- if there's a break later I'll try and
throw up a couple more pictures- TTFN 🙂
