Return of the Zuma!

Return of the Zuma!

Back in 1992 Jackie & I bought a 1989 Yamaha CW50W Zuma 50cc Scooter.I used the bike to ride to the station daily, but then, just before I started working at the church, it was stolen. I eventually got it back, slightly damaged, but by then we had moved in at the church and I didn't need to commute- and so I stored it away and mostly forgot about it until the current ridiculous price of gas reminded me it was there (it gets 80-100 mpg). So recently I hauled it back into the light of day, blew 14 years worth of dust off it, and would you believe it started right up with the 14 year old gas that was in it!After a bit of a kerfuffle with the DMV (we couldn't find the title and the DMV could find no record of it and so wouldn't issue a new one- then I discovered that bikes like this don't have a title) I got it registered and insured on Friday. I've given it new gas and oil, ordered it a new battery and air filter etc., but it seems to be really happy to be back in the sun as it seems to be running great! I'm going to get it some new tires next and try and fix the little dings and dents the thieves put in it.Here it is making Dave's Harley feel inadequate while Crispy tries on my new helmet (I had to replace the old one as my head seems to have grown in the last 14 years… shut up!).
